Gambling industry price comparison site Oddschecker has announced improvements in the speed at which their site displays odds changes.
The changes have come about as a result of a project that involved the site altering the process it uses to monitor and publish changes in bookmakers’ odds.
The updated site is based on Oddschecker’s core coverage, which relies mainly on football, horse racing and tennis. According to the company, changes to the odds for any market associated with these sports will show up on both the main website and the Oddschecker mobile app within 10 seconds, a significant improvement on the speed of their service.
Speaking about the newly improved service, the Head of Technology for Oddschecker, Matt Robinson, said that it has been developed in-house and is already operational:
“Customers are already experiencing the power of this new platform on horse racing, plus major football and tennis markets, when viewing our websites and apps.”
But Oddschecker has also warned users that there could be problems in the short term. A letter from the company Managing Director, Andrew Towers, explained that the platform may experience problems as a result of issues relating to the limitations imposed by betting companies, but he said that they were working to resolve these all the time.
Towers also said that this was just the first step in the company’s aim of making their site a hub for all betting and price comparison services.
Oddschecker, which also offers Casinochecker, Pokerchecker and Bingochecker services through separate platforms, was founded in 2001. It has become one of the most prominent online odds comparison services in the UK. It was bought by the betting company Sky Bet in 2007.
