Yggdrasil Enter Roulette Market

One of the gaming sector’s most popular games developers, Yggdrasil, has expanded their range of titles by dipping their toe in the roulette market.

The company, which was founded in 2013, is best known for their range of new era slots games, but they have recently been branching out into the table games sector and have now announced the launch of Golden Chip Roulette, their first ever roulette product.

Producing a new take on such a traditional game means presents particular challenges and gives developers less of a free hand than might be the case when coming up with a new slots game idea, but Yggdrasil appear to have produced a roulette title which balances tradition and innovation.

Golden Chip Roulette is recognisable as the classic table game, beloved by casino players for centuries, but adds a few 21st century features.

One of these new elements is the Golden Chip feature, which turns chips representing straight bets gold while a multiplier wheel spins inside the main roulette wheel. This multiplier wheel offers the potential to produce a multiplier factor of between 10 and 500, which, according to Yggdrasil, is a significant upgrade on the traditional roulette multiplier of 36.

The setting for Golden Chip Roulette appears designed to recreate the atmosphere of a luxury casino, with a jazz ambience and a high definition luxury backdrop and given Yggdrasil’s reputation for producing innovative and immersive modern games, this title could be a hit with roulette fans.

The game will be available through all online casinos that offer Yggdrasil titles, and operators will also have the freedom to tweak the game by offering their own Tournaments and Prize Drops. It is an interesting departure for the company and if it proves successful, we could see further table games titles added to the Yggdrasil roster.
