Maverick Gaming LLC have been making several acquisitions in recent months and their expansion shows no sign of slowing down. After some recent purchases in the state of Washington, they have now turned their attention to Colorado.
CC Gaming LLC are the largest operator in the state when it comes to casinos of the smaller and more local variety. Purchasing the company will also see Maverick acquire their gaming and non-gaming assets. Included in that list are three Centennial State casinos as well as gas station/convenience store. The casinos purchased are the Z Casino in Black Hawk, Grand Z Casino Hotel in Central City and Johnny Z’s Casino, also in Central City.
Eric Persson is the majority owner of Maverick Gaming LLC who are based in Nevada. He is delighted at this purchase. He believes it will make them “a significant player in the Colorado Gaming market.” Emphasis is being placed on Denver and the casinos are all less than an hour away from that city.
The deal sees them gain 20 table games, 1500 slot machines and nearly 120 hotel rooms. Just how much this purchase has cost Maverick Gaming LLC hasn’t been revealed. Approval of the deal is required from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission and that’s expected next month.
Maverick already have five gaming properties in its home state including the Gold Country Casino, High Desert Inn and the Red Garter Hotel & Casino. Recently they have been expanding to Washington and are now one of the main operators of local casinos. Purchases include the Macau Casino in Tukwill and the Caribbean Cardroom in Kirkland. The recent purchases mean they now have 19 cardrooms and approaching 300 table games in Washington.
There are plans to further expand their business in Washington and not just for casinos. Maverick are also interested in expanding into sports betting in Washington, something expected to take place. This isn’t imminent though and could even mean a wait until 2021. With sports betting also on its way in Colorado, a busy time for Maverick looks likely and other states are also being targeted.
