Russian gambling company Marathonbet have announced an extension of their current arrangement with one of English football’s biggest clubs.
The firm, which is the online sports betting subsidiary of Panserve Ltd, is set to expand their existing agreement with the reigning champions of the English Premier League, Manchester City. The company will now become the official ‘training kit partner’ for the club, which means that the Marathonbet branding will feature on the training kits of both the senior men’s and women’s teams.
Marathonbet, which has been expanding its profile in recent months, has an ongoing arrangement with Manchester City. Back in June 2018, they were named as the club’s official Global Betting Partner, a relationship that has worked well for the firm as it coincided with City’s dominance in the top flight of English football.
To mark the new deal, there was a training kit unveiling ceremony for the UK press, which featured appearances by the City head coach Pep Guardiola along with a number of players including Sergio Aguero and teammate Bernardo Silva as well as Megan Campbell and Gemma Bonner.
The firm have also confirmed that the Marathonbet branding would not appear on the training kit for the City academy or junior teams, in line with the rules on promoting safe gambling.
Speaking about the deal, the Chief Operating Officer at the club, Omar Berrada, said that it was an important moment and that they were delighted to extend their existing partnership.
The CEO of Marathonbet, Natalia Zavodnik, also said that the partnership had been a fruitful one and that they were excited to be involved with City:
